According to alayam.com, Sheikh Khalid ibn Ali ibn Abdullah, Bahrain’s Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, said that the final stage of the competition will conclude today and the closing ceremony will be held tomorrow, April 24.
A hotel in the capital city will host the ceremony where the winners of the Quranic competition will be awarded, he said.
He added that that online registration for the first to the third stages of the competition made it possible for the Quran activists from different parts of the world to participate in the international event.
The minister went on to say that the first edition of the competition was held in 2014 with 5000 participants but the number increased to 7000 and 9200 in the second and third editions.
The 3rd edition of the annual contest began on August 23, 2017, under the supervision of the country’s Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs.
The final stage of the competition is being held among the five winners of the four previous stages and the top winner will be titled “the world Qari”.
