Iran’s Dar-ol-Quran Center to Train 200,000 Memorizers of Quran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Head of Iran’s Dar-ol-Quran Organization said the organization plans to contribute to the National Quran Memorization Plan by training as many as 200,000 memorizers of the Quran.

  

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Saturday, Mehdi Qarasheikhlu elaborated on the activities of the organization in the past and current Iranian years.

He said it plans to organize a festival of Quranic products this year with the aim of identifying the capacities and potentials of Quranic institutions in the field of Quranic products.

According to Qarasheikhlu, there are also plans for organizing Quran contests, Quranic courses, workshops on the Quranic lifestyle and educational camps for teenagers.

As for the last year (ended March 20), he said the organization held 40 major Quranic programs in the year 1396.

They featured activities organizing Quranic courses, supervising Quran printing and publication, and supporting grassroots Quranic activities, the official added.

There was a plan for identifying Quranic talents held in different parts of the country in which some 1300 new Quranic talents aged 10 to 18 were identified, he said.

Holding Quran interpretation sessions and a program to enhance clerics’ Quranic skills were among other activities of the organization last year, Qarasheikhlu went on to say.

The Dar-ol-Quran Organization is affiliated to Iran’s Islamic Development Organization.

It oversees Quranic activities and grants permissions for publication of the Quran in the country.
