The center, named Beni Suef Charity Society has taken great strides in teaching the Holy Quran to blind children.

It has also distributed copies of the Holy Book in braille among the kids, according to El-Balad news website.

A teacher at the center teaches them how to read the braille alphabet and numbers.

Juneidi and his wife, who are both visually-impaired, say being blind is no impediment to learning the Holy Quran.

Blind children are even often better at memorizing the Quran than other children, the two, who don’t have children say.

Braille is a writing system which enables the blind and partially-sighted people to read and write through touch.

It was invented by Louis Braille (1809-1852), who was blind and became a teacher of the blind.

In recent years, the Holy Quran and religious books have been printed in Braille to help the visually-impaired Muslims read the texts with ease.
