Egypt’s Awqaf Ministry to Launch Online Quran Memorization Program

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Awqaf minister of Egypt said his ministry is making preparations to launch a distant Quran learning program.

Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa said the program for online teaching of Quran memorization will get underway in the near future, Al-MIsrawi website reported.

It will help those who want to memorize the Quran and learn its concepts via the cyberspace, he said in a post on his Twitter account.

In Egypt, the Awqaf ministry is tasked with organizing, coordinating and overseeing Quranic and religious activities.

In other news from the Arab country, a graduation ceremony was held in the city of Tanta for 100 foreign students of Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Quran Recitation and Sciences.

The students have managed to recite the entire Quran with the ten Qira’at (styles of recitation) in one year.

They were from four countries, namely Indonesia, India, Uganda, and Kyrgyzstan.

The year-long course, which was taught by skillful Qira’at experts of Al-Azhar University, was free of charge.
