Quran Radio, Most Popular Radio Station in Egypt During Ramadan

During the holy month of Ramadan (June 29-July 28), the Quran Radio was the most popular radio station in Egypt, a poll showed.

It was conducted by the public relations office of Egypt's Association of Radio and TV Networks, al-Bawaba news reported.
Abdul Khaliq Yusuf, an official with the association, said that according to the poll, 97.5 percent of radio listeners said they listened to Quran Radio programs during Ramadan.
He said programs on Quran recitation, Tarteel and Tajweed as well as those on Islamic tenets were the most popular among Quran radio programs.
Egypt's Quran Radio had been selected as the radio station with the highest number of listeners in last year's Ramadan, too.
Egypt is a predominantly Muslim country with a significant history of Quranic activities, especially in the field of Quran recitation.
It has introduced to the Muslim world some of the most renowned and popular Quran reciters including Abdul Bassit Abdul Samad, Mohamed Siddiq El-Minshawi, Mustafa Ismail and Muhammad Rifat.
