Culture Minister Urges for Organization of Int’l Quran Contests for Women

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati urged for holding international Quran competitions for women.

He made the remark while addressing the participants in the 7th Quran competition of the Imam Ali (AS) Dar-ol-Quran Center, adding that holding these contests for women would be a very valuable move.  

He also said that gradually the organization of Quran contests should be done by people.

Jannati elaborated on the Quranic activities before and after the victory of the Islamic Revolution and said that thanks to the victory of the revolution, acquaintance with the Quran has reached a lofty status in society.

He said that three decades after the revolution’s victory, the country is witnessing the burgeoning of new generations of Quran reciters and memorizers who raise the Islamic Republic of Iran’s flag in international Quranic events.

The culture minister also highlighted the development of Quran memorization in the country in the past three decades.

He underlined that the spread of the Quranic culture in the country has been due to the leadership of Imam Khomeini (AS) and then the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.   

Elsewhere in his remarks, Jannati pointed to the formation of the Quran and Etrat deputy in the culture ministry and said called on everyone working in these fields to help the deputy to fulfill its role.
