Diyanet said it has organized the courses in the 2022-2023 school year, according to Turk Press.
It said children aged 4 to 6 have taken the courses all over the country.
As well as learning the Quran, the children reactive lessons on Islamic values such as benevolence, truthfulness, patience, cooperation, good intention and respecting others, it added.
The courses are held in cooperation with the ministry of education, Diyanet stated.
Last year the number of kids benefiting from the Quranic programs was around 168,000 and this year it has reached 193,564, which shows growing interest of families in having their children learn the Quran, it said.
In Turkey, Diyanet is responsible for supervising Quranic and religious activities.
Turkey is a Muslim majority country in West Asia. Nearly 99 percent of the country’s population adhere to Islam.
