Speaking in a televised speech on Saturday following recurrent cases of insult to Muslims’ holy book in Sweden and Denmark, Abdul Malik al-Houthi strongly slammed some Arab and Muslim countries for refraining from cutting ties with countries where the Quran was insulted, saying their positions prove that they do not really care about Islam.
“These [apparently Muslim] rulers prove that they lack necessary ability and qualification to shoulder this responsibility and cannot be trusted by the [Muslim] Ummah when it comes to defending their sanctities,” Houthi said.
He also censured “many Islamic organizations that have not severed diplomatic and economic relations with countries where Islam has been insulted,” noting that this proves the weakness of the Muslim world and “the low level of our commitment to defending Islam.”
A number of Muslim countries have strongly condemned the insult to Muslims’ sanctities and summoned Danish and Swedish envoys in protest at desecration of the Holy Quran. Iran, for its part, has said it will not send a new ambassador to Sweden and will not accept Stockholm’s new envoy.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Ansarullah leader said the powerful Zionist lobby is active within the Western governments and provokes Europeans against Islam and Muslims.
“Western societies are submissive to Zionists and we are responsible for taking position against the plots hatched by the enemies of Islam,” he added.
The Ansarullah leader emphasized that Muslims must take categorical and powerful positions vis-à-vis Zionist lobbies in the world as well as the United States and Israel, and all those who agree to their hostile moves against the divine prophets.
