Quran; A Book of Guidance, Insight

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Holy Quran has been introduced as the book of guidance, light, healing, mercy, reminding, and insight and one that offers the right plan for life.

By acting upon the teachings of this divine book, mankind can attain everlasting salvation.

God says in Verse 57 of Surah Yunus: “People, good advice has come to you from your Lord a (spiritual) cure, a guide and a mercy for the believers.”

Allameh Tabatabei says if the four attributes mentioned in this verse for the Quran are compared to the Quran itself, the verse serves a comprehensive outline of the beauty and purity of the Holy Book.

Actually, this verse highlights four stages of mankind’s growth and move toward perfection as a result of following the teachings of the Quran.

1- Advice and Admonition

2- Purifying the soul from all moral vices

3- Guidance, which takes place after purification, which means one’s move toward perfection in all positive aspects

4- Helping man become worthy of attaining God’s mercy and blessings.

These stages come one after another and all of them are achieved as a result of acting upon the Quran’s teachings.

The Holy Quran gives advice to people, purifies the hearts from sins and evil, and gives them the light of guidance. And it is the Quran that brings divine blessings to individuals and society.

Imam Ali (AS) said: “Therefore, seek cure from it (the Holy Quran) for your ailments and seek its assistance in your distresses. It contains a cure for the biggest diseases, namely unbelief, hypocrisy, revolt and misguidance.”
